Zihan Chen is a designer who owns 5 years' experience of directing and creating award-winning identities, interactions, and experiences to engage, inspire, and empower the audience.

He is currently designing configuration-driven systems at the Silicon Valley unicorn Flexport to automate the future of logistic platform that will make global trade easy for everyone.

Zihan has previously worked in various technology startups across industries, as well as in world-class agencies such as Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv and McCann Worldgroup. Back in college, he founded the indie game company SECStudio, where he led a team to design, develop, and publish a number of mobile games that were ranked top and featured worldwide.

His diverse backgrounds widely across the disciplines of science and art, in user research, product design, branding, and fine art, contributed to his creative mindset, which had brought back over two dozens of awards to his name before his early 20s: including the One Show, iF Design Award, Graphis New Talent Annual, London Group Open, and several Red Dot Design Awards.

Zihan graduated with an M.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he studied Human-Computer Interaction, and earned his B.A. in Studio Art from the University of Virginia.

He is an avid inventor who worships tech innovations while holding multiple patents himself since age 17, anywhere from a faucet that nudges people to save water to a computer algorithm that authenticates electronic devices simply based on motions.

Zihan learnt to fly the year after he started to drive, he is a licensed pilot in the U.S. who flies both airplanes and helicopters.
